I meant to write a decent review of Crazy Stupid Love, but when I started Googling for pictures to accompany my review, I found this:
Maybe an indecent review is more appropriate? Hee hee!
Anyway, I'll still try to write something coherent...
If ogling Ryan Gosling isn't your thing, then you'd be happy to hear that Crazy Stupid Love is actually a really good movie. It's sweet and touching without going overboard (except maybe for the penultimate scene), it's funny without trying too hard, and it catches you completely off-guard with that suprising twist which I did not expect (I don't know if I was just dense, but I really was surprised!) All the actors have their moments, but I should give special props to the kid who played Steve Carrell's son. He is just adorable and funny.
And can I just say that the posters for this movie are adorable too?
Ang gwapo pa rin ni Ryan even while in the midst of a scuffle!
And my favorite of the set:
Because I am an equal-opportunity admirer, I would also like to profess my fangirl crush on Emma Stone. I want to be her when I grow up (which doesn't make sense, because she's just 22, but whatever). I want her voice! It's super sexy and bad-ass at the same time, which is so hard to pull off without sounding weird. She and Ryan are so bagay on screen, I was ecstatic to learn they're currently shooting another film together!
Crazy Stupid Love isn't your typical summer movie because it doesn't feature a superhero, it isn't a sequel and it doesn't star any A-list actors (unless you consider Steve Carrell an A-lister, but I don't). For those reasons, I don't expect this film to stay long in theaters, so if you're convinced by this review which barely made sense, go rush to the cinemas now! The film (actually Ryan's abs alone) is well worth the price of admission.

I loved Emma Stone's reaction when she saw Ryan's abs!!! Grabe naman kasi, what a pack!!!
ReplyDeleteI was never a fan of Ryan Gosling's, but after watching this movie... *swooooooooon* It's difficult to review the movie without going on and on about Ryan, but it really was quite a good movie. I saw it because I remembered I liked the trailer, and I really liked it. And, like you, I never saw the twist coming, although I did wonder why Julianne Moore's and Steve Carrell's characters married so early, given the age of their son... I hope that doesn't spoil it for anyone... But yeah, even if it did, I still recommend watching it, if only for Ryan's arms and abs. ;)
